Gender Fuck It All

Gender Fuck It All

Before I was born my mother said, quote, that she wanted to have a little girl whom she could “dress up and take shopping”, and she got just that. A CIS born girl who, as it happens, does love dressing up and shopping. As a child I was obsessed with styling the outfits on my many Barbie dolls, and dressing up as different characters was absolutely my favourite thing to do. I loved looking good. Little has changed since then. Almost daily I am dripping tip to toe in very deliberate “femme” clothes and accessories. Bright colours, sparkles, liquid eyeliner and platform heels. Some people may judge because they believe that caring so much about aesthetics is superficial. But I don’t care, because I love it, and my love runs deep and true. It makes me feel good to present as femme. Because every time I look in the mirror and am satisfied by my reflection I get a boost of confidence in knowing that I am externally matching a significant part my internal identity.

Unapologetically Purple

Unapologetically Purple

I have always loved the colour purple. I remember as a child staring myself in the mirror once trying to finitely decide what my favourite colours were. Purple was the obvious choice, coupled occasionally with pink. As I got older the choice of complimentary colour changed to yellow, and again to orange but always the purple remained. Lately I have found myself wearing more and more of the colour. People were beginning to mention it to me, not that it was a bad thing, but that I was obviously into the hue. I was noticing it everywhere as well. Even when I went shopping I’d find myself coming home with things in purple packages. It was becoming absurd.

A skincare alternative/I washed my face with my own pee for three weeks

So, the theory is. As well as excreting waste products the kidneys also filter out excess water-soluble vitamins and minerals that are in abundance in the body. This means that your pee is power packed full of all kinds of good biz which, in theory, should be nourishing and hydrating for the skin. And, added bonus of the skin recognising the urine as being from your own body and accepting it as itself, instead of having an adverse reaction as can be the case with many commercial skin products. So with all of this in mind I decided to wash my face with my own urine for three weeks. First piss, mid stream (as this is the most mineral rich of the pisses) every day.

Leg Hair Liberation

Leg Hair Liberation

I am hairy. Big time. It’s in my genes. I’m half Macedonian and my mother’s Scottish ancestry saw her growing a better goatee on her knee than her seventeen-year-old brother could grow on his face in a bet. The hair that grows on me is thick and dark and quite contrasting to my pale skin. I never had much issue with this as a child, but when my mother sat me on the veranda aged twelve and waxed my legs for the first time I learnt to believe hairy legs were something to be ashamed of.
